Reliance Jio launched Jio Fiber in September this year. Recently the company has launched a migration plan for Jio Fiber customers. Under this, customers are being given the option to switch to paid plans, or to unsubscribe to Jio Fiber. On the other hand, Airtel has also launched Airtel Extreme Fiber Broadband this year. In this article, we will compare Jio Fiber vs Airtel Xstream plans.

According to a report by Telecom Talk, Airtel uses Xstream vectorization technology, which is considered Europe’s number one broadband technology. The report also stated that Airtel is the first broadband provider in India to offer this technology. Jio and Airtel have many broadband plans, which gives customers the option to choose the plan according to their needs. Here we are telling you about the best plans for 100Mbps speed of both companies.

Jio Fiber Plans

Jio fiber Bronze Plan: Jio Fiber’s Rs 699 bronze plan offers 100Mbps speed. It has 150Gb data with a validity of 30 days. This plan includes TV voice calling worth Rs 1200 and zero-latency gaming worth Rs 1200 with free voice calls across the country. Apart from this, the device security worth Rs 999 and free access to Jio Cinema and Jio Saavn for three months will also be available in this plan.

Silver plan: This is a plan of Rs 849. In this, you will get 400GB data with a speed of 100Mbps for 30 days. Apart from this, you will get benefits such as TV video calling and zero-latency gaming worth Rs 1200 with free voice calls across the country. Also, the device security worth Rs 999 and free access to OTT apps for three months is also part of this plan.

Airtel Xstream Fiber Plan

Basic Plan: Airtel has only one plan with 100Mbps speed. In this plan of 700 rupees, you will get 150GB data and unlimited calling facility across the country. Apart from this, it will get Airtel Thanks benefits including access to the Airtel Xstream app.

Jio Fiber vs Airtel Xstream plans

Let’s go deep and compare different plans of Jio Fiber vs Airtel Xstream plans.

Starter Plan

As you can clearly see that the starter plan of reliance Jio Fiber is far better than the Airtel Xstream. Both the plans are offering the same bundle data and speed but in Jio you will get some extra services like device security, Jio Cinema, and Savan access.

Point: Jio Fiber 1 Airtel Xstream 0

Experience Plan

In this segment, we will check the second plan of both Jio and Airtel. In this plan, you will get access to all the features of both the products. Let’s see which one is better.

Bonus3 Months of Jio
Cinema and Jio Saavn

to Amazon Prime,
Netflix, Hotstar, Zee5 Premium

In the above plan, airtel is charging ₹ 100 extra as rental but against that it provides the speed of up to 200 Mbps against the 100 Mbps of Reliance Jio. Airtel also provides access to amazon prime and Netflix which is an added advantage.

Point: Jio Fiber 1 Airtel Xstream 1

Mid Range Plan

In this plan, the rental is ₹ 1299 for Jio and ₹ 1499. Let’s see the offerings of both the plans.

Plan PriceJio FiberAirtel Xstream
Mid Range₹ 1299₹ 1499
What You Get750 GB750 GB

Netflix, Hotstar,
Zee5 Premium, Airtel Xstream

Airtel is charging slightly higher rental, but against that, it provides a higher speed as compared to Jio. Getting an additional 50 Mbps of speed is I think doesn’t change the buying decision. 250 Mbps is more than sufficient to stream any content on the internet. So why to pay an additional rental of ₹ 200 to Airtel? I think I would stick to the Reliance Jio plan.

Point: Jio Fiber 2 Airtel Xstream 1

Giga Plan

This one is the highest speed plan for both the service providers. They both are offering speed up to 1 Gbps under this plan.

Plan PriceJio FiberAirtel Xstream
Giga Plan₹ 3999₹ 3999
What You Get2500 GB2500 GB
SpeedUp to 1 GbpsUp to 1 Gbps

Benefits
Bonus3 Months of Jio
Cinema and Jio Saavn
free limited access
to Amazon Prime,
Netflix, Hotstar,
Zee5 Premium, Airtel Xstream

The benefits of this Giga plan is almost the same. The only advantage here is to get bonus services like free access to Amazon Prime and Netflix, Hotstar services. Which Airtel and Jio both are offering.

Jio additionally, provides deceive security and CCTV cameras for home security. This benefit is not there in Airtel’s Xstream plans. So I would go for the Jio Fiber plan only.

Point: Jio Fiber 3 Airtel Xstream 1

So as you can see above the clear winner in Jio Fiber vs Airtel Xstream is Reliance Jio fiber services. They are offering various add on services that Airtel is not providing.

Now, You must be thinking which plan is suitable for your needs? I also had the same question in my mind. So I dig into the details of both the plans and content they are providing.

The main issue with the plans are, they are usage-based plans. Means you are getting fix Giga Bytes under these plans. Now you don’t know how long these GBs will be there in your account. Well, that depends a lot on the type of content you consume.

It is like using a data pack on your mobile which has a balance of say 1 GB/day. now if you watch an hour-long video, your data will consume fast. On the other hand, if you just do surfing or chatting, you data will last long.

There are some variations in the above plan based on the city. So it is advisable to check the plans for the city for which you are searching.

Conclusion: Jio Fiber vs Airtel Xstream

So in the battle of Jio Fiber vs Airtel Xstream, the clear winner is Jio fiber. The digital broadcasting is still a new concept in India and will take some time to stabilize. If you want to experience the services, I would suggest you go for a basic plan at the start. Check your usage and speed of the service. If you are satisfied with the services, then you may upgrade the plan in the future.
